Director's End of Year Message

Message from the VWC Staff

Happy New Year!

We remain grateful for the service and valor of our uniformed men and women who have sacrificed so much to preserve liberty for each generation.

We salute our soldiers, Marines, sailors, airmen, guardians and coast guardsmen deployed around the world who continue to diligently work to protect the freedoms we enjoy today, and every day.

As we look ahead  to 2025 and prepare for our final support as a Commemoration toward National Vietnam War Veterans Day
(March 29), a few key dates to remember:
March 2025 key dates for Commemoration Wind-down
  • March 15:  The very last day  to submit Event Requests (DD2956) through our Partner Portal to order any materials or event support from us; and
  • March 31:  The very last day  we will be able to support these events.

We have myriad resources  available at your fingertips via our website and National Vietnam War Veterans Day  page to assist in your programs as you thank and honor our Vietnam veterans and their families.

Stay tuned, as we will be highlighting these resources in the next SITREP and the weeks ahead for use in your National Vietnam War Veterans Day  and other events.

As Director Chrystal affirmed in his end of year video message shown above:

“Long after we’re gone,
the importance of this mission will remain:
Our Vietnam veterans and their families
will still need to be thanked and honored.
We are asking all Americans to carry on this torch.
Whenever you see them, welcome them home,
thank them for their service,
and thank their families for their sacrifice.
They deserve to know they’ve earned this Nation’s gratitude.”
